“WE ARE STUDENTS NOT CUSTOMERS”
UNITED STUDENT DEMANDED FREE EDUCATION, SCIENTIFIC, DEMOCRATIC ADN VISIONARY THE PEOPLE

Crisis of Capitalism and the Waves struggling as Student
Like a spider web, capitalism ensnare all sectors of public life and then loot and suck. Therefore, the development of capitalism not only dwell on the manufacturing industry alone but in service industries, including education services. The crisis of capitalism in the Americas and Europe raced to the continent of Africa and Asia to transmit the virus. Capitalism has ruined and destroyed education all over the world. Capitalism crisis rescue attempt by education budget cuts and rising costs of education have been enemies for students. Even had enough too long learners-students made "customers" for the benefit of the owners of capital.
In the heading International Students Day which falls on November 17, a wave of resistance to the capitalization of education conducted simultaneously around the world. In England, students protested in a rally displaying large posters with the inscription on the bridge Milenim average student debt in educational institutions sebsar 25 thousand euoro. Sementra 3145 euoro students must pay more each year. Not to mention their families must bear a huge debt due to subsidy cuts in other areas. So Britain is impossible for students to pay tuition fees for it.
In Croatia as many as 1,500 students protested the demand "Free Education" at the university. While the action in the other cities dropped by 500 students demanding the same thing, namely free education. The action was also wearing a banner with the words "one world - one struggle, education is not for sale", in addition to demanding free education, they also demanded that the knowledge is not a commodity, remove neoliberalism in college, the budget for education and not for war, etc. .
While in Germany carries demonstrations reversing the international day against the commercialization of education. This was done in two places, namely in Mannheim with 600 Dusseldrof demonstrators and some 300 demonstrators. Meanwhile in Bulgaria also carrying the same issue with the German by displaying banners. While in Turkey wave of protests brought the issue of commercialization and privatization of education. Resistance istambul students do in town with masses of 500 people and in 50 other cities, involving 150 students. In the Netherlands only did the protests in the city of Amsterdam by displaying banners.
In Indonesia, the students in the organization "Indonesian Student Union (SMI)" was participating in an insurgency against the capitalization of education. In Jakarta SMI staged in front of the House of Representatives to demand free education, scientific, democratic and populist vision. Actions were also conducted by SMI Branch Tangerang, Bekasi, Medan, Lampung-Pringsewu, Semarang, Pekalongan, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Mataram, Bima, Dompu, Napier, Luwuk and Ternate.

Indonesian Student Union Against Capitalization of Education
Under the capitalist system, education is used as a tool to oppress. The oppressors are using science and technology as powerful tools to achieve their goals of maintaining oppressive order through manipulation and suppression. On the basis of private property rights over educational institutions (schools and universities), commodification of education is nothing but an attempt to double the profits and more freedom in doing the sucking. In the service industry education, students positions become "customers" (customers of educational services). The issue of students as "customers" is becoming critical in fully understanding the patterns of interaction within the education system that has been capitalized.
Why are students become "customers"? Due to be able to access the education they are required to buy educational services. Then to extend their education should pay tuition and credits each semester and if the student the student does not pay, then they will be removed from the list of customers of educational services. Do not stop there, they also have to pay again when you want to continue  education level (kindergarten-primary and junior-high school- higher education), and the higher the education level, the more expensive the price of the commodity education. Thus it can be said that the commercialization of the commodity student education so students become "customers" is the concrete practice of the capitalization of education.
Furthermore, the regulations passed by the House of Representatives on Friday, July 13, 2012 ie the date of Act No. 12 Year 2012 On Higher Education. Higher Education Act, the other does not constitute the totality of the capitalization of national education.
Basic philosophical about the loss of the state's responsibility to ensure and facilitate the education of the people is "autonomous". Autonomous is a form of freedom of the will (free will) and reject any intervention from anywhere. However, what happens when the autonomous placed in the education sector? On the pretext of autonomous educational institution does not allow state interference in the running of business (industrial services) education. Autonomous campuses will also free agency in developing its revenue through market mechanisms. In the higher education act, an autonomous set in Article 62 (1) that universities have the autonomy to manage their own institution as a center of administration “Tridharma”. Autonomous include autonomy of academic and non academic set out in Article 64. Therefore, an autonomous "misguided thought" of liberalization of education.
The release of the state's responsibility to education also evident in article 84 of Higher Education Act, that the public can participate in the funding of higher education. Then passed on section 85, ie first that universities can participate in the funding of higher education through cooperation Tridharma implementation. Second, higher education funding may also come from the cost of education borne by students according to ability students, parents of students, or other parties that finance it.
Practice capitalization higher education shown by the market mechanism and closely ties with the industry as a pillar of capitalism itself. In the Higher Education Act has facilitated the process set forth in Article 86. In Article 86 (1) states that the government facilitate the business and industrial world by actively providing funding to universities. Then Article 86 (2) states, the government provides incentives to businesses and industry or community members who provide assistance or donations higher education in accordance with the provisions of the legislation.
The internationalization of capital has contributed to the capitalization in the education sector. Exports of capital in the education sector conducted by the mode of international cooperation in various forms. Article 50 (4) states that international cooperation in the development of higher education can be done, among others, through the relationship between higher education institutions in Indonesia and other countries higher education institutions in the implementation of quality education activities.
Furthermore, the conception of student loans failed run in Europe and America. Even in crisis situations, many impoverished students later defaulted. Student loan fund is a strategy merauk profit higher education industry with the illusion of ease of access to education. Such practices, outlined in Article 76 (2) point b; Loans without interest that must be repaid after graduation and / or employment.
Education as a right of the public, should be enjoyed by all the people of Indonesia. But in the Higher Education Act section 74 (1) only prioritize prospective students who have high academic potential, but economically disadvantaged students and candidates from the frontier, outer, and left to be accepted at least 20% (twenty percent) of the all new students accepted and distributed to all study program. If quantifiable, the amount of 20% will not be met given the complexity of the necessary requirements. And certainly there are about 80% and even more who will buy the commodity at a cost of education is expensive.
The presence of higher education legislation will also threaten the lives of democratization campus. Even the law is NKK / BKK volume II of discriminatory, ie, there is discrimination between intra-and extra-campus organizations. In Article 77 (3), which is recognized only intra-campus student organizations. So the extra organiasi campus like the Student Union Indonesia (SMI) are not recognized, do not get their rights, will be threatened frozen and dissolved. This article clearly contrary to the freedom of expression in public and as a human right contained in Law No. 9 of 1998. Then Article 28 of the Constitution of 1945, which states that "freedom of association and assembly, of expression by oral, written and set forth by the Act."
So we of the Student Union Indonesia (SMI) as a student organization of mass political attitudes firmly states, requires the State to immediately:
1. Repeal Act. 20 of 2003 on National Education System
2. Repeal Act. 12 Year 2012 on Higher Education
